Two important questions are answered by Simply Jesus: -- Who is Jesus and what that should mean. Why do we need this study? The Hebrews’ writer encourages us to “consider Jesus, the author and finisher of our salvation” (Hebrews 3:1). With the distracted interest of the church in politics, social justice, and material and personal well-being, the Focus on Jesus has been blurred. As the focus shifts, it gives Satan a great victory as his purpose is to distract Christians from Focusing on Jesus, and not giving him the priority (Colossians 1:18). Simply Jesus provides the needed focus as the story of Jesus is told and the meaning is discovered. Jesus is so much more than is often heard in churches. According to the Bible, he is the Image of God (Colossians 1:15), the Form of God (Philippians 2:6), the Word of God (John 1:1), and the Radiance of God (Hebrews 1:3). Read and know why Jesus deserves the first place (Colossians 1:18).
