Mission Statements

Kennon Callahan, writing in Twelve KEYS of an Effective Church, contends that successful churches have mission out-reach that grows in grace to improve life through Christian faith.”

Compass Leadership Workshop

Church Mission Statements identify both the internal and external Church missions. Mission is what the church is doing on a day-to-day basis to make the Vision a reality.

In Ephesians 2:8-22, Paul tells us that church leadership is not just a Pastoral responsibility.

As with creating the Vision Statement, creating the Mission Statement is a process for church leadership.

The Mission Statement is a short action-driven sentence or group of words telling what people are doing each day.

Members must be equipped to carry out the steps in the Mission Statement, who will in turn equip others.

When membership is equipped to carry on the mission of the organization, they become more devoted to the church. When this happens in a church, growth automatically happens.
